Dr Tania will perform a full physical examination of your pet, discussing any concerns that you may have or problems that are found.
We then establish a potential diagnostic and/or treatment plan that suits you, if one is required. We can perform basic testing and first aid. If extensive diagnostics or treatment are required, we can assist with referral to a local veterinary hospital as we do not have full medical or surgical facilities available.
A full physical examination is recommended yearly for young healthy dogs and cats or may be beneficial more often if they are older, suffer from particular illnesses or are taking ongoing medications.
For our ‘unusual’ pets, including small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, rodents or guinea pigs), reptiles and birds, a full physical examination is recommended every six months.
The aim of these regular ‘wellness checks’ is to detect problems that may have gone unnoticed or seem insignificant but may indicate the onset of disease and warrant further investigation. Please tell us if you have noticed any recent changes to your pet’s behaviour, movement, eating, drinking or toileting habits as they may provide clues to underlying issues.
Health checks are available for dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles and birds.
